The MP11's Grand Feel keyboard action also features Kawai's accurate triple-sensor key detection system for enhanced playing realism. The MP11's onboard sounds are organised into three independent sections: PIANO, E.PIANO, and SUB. Each sound section features a hardware volume fader, effects and reverb controls, and four distinctive voice categories, with tonal variations for each type. With expanded sound memory, the MP11 boasts the largest sample size of any Kawai digital piano. This 'eXtra Long' standard of Harmonic Imaging technology extends the important attack portion of piano sounds by up to 120%. The MP11's internal song recorder provides a convenient means to capture and playback musical ideas, backing tracks, or complete performances at the touch of a button. Up to 10 recordings can be stored in the instrument's memory, with an optional metronome function to assist with timing, and 100 drum rhythm patterns for inspiring creativity. Recorded songs can be saved to a USB device as standard MIDI files and in addition to MIDI songs stored in memory, the MP11 also supports the recording and playback of MP3 or WAV audio files to and from USB devices.
